FactoryLink 8.0.1 contains rebranding of the product to Siemens PLM Software and fixed software issues. Both new users as well as upgrade customers will discover several important and useful new features.

FactoryLink 8.0 introduced new communications between the server and the graphics client (Client Builder). In this release, version 8 clients will not attach to a Version 7.x server.  A version 7 client can attach to a version 8 server if the OPC Server task is present (alarms, trends, and database browser controls will not work), but should use the license from the 7.x server.

Note:  FactoryLink 8.0.1 is a full installation and therefore does not require FactoryLink 8.0.0 to be installed.  If you have any version of FactoryLink installed, it is necessary to back up your applications and uninstall that version prior to installing FactoryLink 8.0.1.
